Hi I’m Amanda, it’s very nice to meet you!

A little bit about me…

I’m originally from Reno, Nevada and grew up visiting the beautiful shores of Lake Tahoe, cheering on the Wolf Pack, and spending time with friends that I met doing various activities. The majority of my childhood and teen years were spent barefoot on a mat doing Tae Kwon Do and Jiu Jitsu and I attribute my discipline, focus, determination, and endurance to this practice. After my final Tae Kwon Do test I hung up my belt, so to speak, to pursue my love for theater. I was involved in several plays in High School and competed on a state-wide level.

I moved to Oregon to pursue my Bachelor’s Degree at Oregon State University (Go Beavs!). In the summer between graduation and the start of my Master’s program I married my High School sweetheart and adopted the most adorable dog who we named after our love of football. My passion for providing care to others has been my primary focus since finishing my Master’s Degree and I feel most fulfilled when I’m sharing a cup of tea, knowledge, and a listening ear with my clients.

When I’m not in the office I love to get lost in a good book, try Salt n’ Straw’s monthly flavors, go for hikes, and play games with friends.

I became a therapist because

  • I have been affected by the tragedies that can unfold when a person’s mental health suffers and treatment is not available, accessed, or appropriate given the individual’s needs

  • I love hearing other’s life stories and bearing witness to their current experiences

  • I believe in the power of social connection and have seen the emotional and psychological benefits that result from feeling loved, cared for, and understood

  • Learning about the brain and human psychology normalizes every day patterns that we sometimes think we experience alone

  • I’m passionate about helping others gain a deeper understanding of themselves and learn skills that promote mental health and overall wellbeing
